We Are Living in an Immaterial World

Honestly, I never would have believed that intangible goods could make a splash in today's market, not beyond 8 year olds anyway. But right now virtual goods are a $1.5B market, with guestimates taking it to $7B by 2010 (yes, that's a B). So go ahead and plant a lil green patch, hatch an egg, send a hug, whatever. Enjoy those random acts of kindness with abandon. Because the really good ones are going to cost you. Just ask Marta Kagan.
