I've come to know @cspenn on Twitter. Smart. Friendly. Great business card. He doesn’t sell cars, but he appears to know a lot about financial aid. Not that I'm looking, but if I were, I’d probably do my business with Chris. Why? I feel like I know him. He blogs. He podcasts. He posts comments. He’s honest, opinionated, helpful. He follows ME on Twitter. He demonstrates beautifully the practice of good social media, the etiquette, the investment in me, the user. So yes, I’m more likely to buy whatever he’s selling -- I'm sure I'm not alone. And THAT is the marketing power of a single social medium. We're not salesmen, we're advisors. And that is going to be huge.
